Hold Your Original Beats, Dirty Nuttah! (59:53): Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (2302)

Q the PhysicistRecently a challenge was put before me by a young Serbian girl, let’s call her Marija, to make a mix with the tunes in bold. In the interest of converting our friend, Marija (who is more of reggae aficionado) to the dnb fold, I decided to undertake the challenge. And while the task was daunting (for example, the Apollo 440 tune resisted strongly to partaking in this mix) it was certainly pleasurable. I added a few of my favorite Samba juicy, junglesque tunes as well as some new stuff from Zinc and Zero Tolerance and Mosus to round out the set. Although I wasn’t able to put Original Nuttah at the end, I did act on Marija’s other suggestion as to the title of the mix. Here then, is Hold Your Original Beats, Dirty Nuttah! Enjoy!

Finally broken 500

Posted May 20th by Guy in News

At last we’ve broken the big 500. Today we hit the total of 503 drum ‘n’ bass loving subscribers to the feed.

Another push for donations…

Posted May 19th by Guy in News

The station fund is once again running low, so I unfortunately have to ask for donations again.

So if you’re feeling generous, cast your gaze over to the right hand side of this page and find the donate button to click.

If you’re not feeling so generous, picture Phuture Frequency as a starving homeless crack whore who’d happily sing you a song if you donated some spare change towards his drug habit (the drug habit being our bandwidth).

How could you turn down a homeless person?

:-P

The Sounds of Phuture Frequency with Q the Physicist

Reading Between the Lines (57:41): Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (1585)

Yes, after a short hiatus, Q is back with another edition of The Sounds of Phuture Frequency and this week’s show features a somewhat more eclectic offering what with the likes of Peshay, Blue Skin, Atlantic Connection and DJ Clart to juxtapose the old with the new. There are some really soulful tunes on this mix, such as Feel You Too and 2 Years and Back but I didn’t want to leave you empty handed so, with somewhat of a mood swing, Space Fruit and Join the Dots add a little bit of a punch to the set. Also, and Raptures will probably say this is cheesy, hehe, but I threw in a mash-up of Matrix and Futurebound’s Skyscraper mashed-up with Wise Guise Wonderwall. Very funny stuff even if it is a little bit corny should we say? Anyway, Enjoy!

Something Liquid This Way Comes (57:54): Play Now | Play in Popup | Download (3964)

Oh, yes, yes, yes, this week brings in some super phat liquid tunes from some well-known top producers. Hot tracks, hot I say! I really need to mention the Donnie Dubson tune Say Goodbye, a truly groovy tune that will stay in your head the whole day, followed immediately by a new Nu:Tone tune, Soul Flower, yet another you are not likely to get out of your head. However, it is Syncopix who is the showcase producer of this mix as he comes through with a new album and he doesn’t fail to please. Embraces and Curses is probably going to be a favorite of liquid DJs this summer, mark my words. Be sure to play the mix to the end, however, as the mix finishes up with the classics by D-Bridge and Fierce, Twilight, and Un-Cut, Midnight, but the lesser known Waiwan mix. Trust me, if liquid is your cup of tea, you surely won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!

Chris Inperspective biography:
Inperspective Records was born in 1997. At the time it was heavily influenced by the Good Looking and Reinforced Labels, which were then promoting a DnB sound that was altogether more innovative and deeply felt than ‘the norm’. The first Inperspective release, by Equinox under the alias “Tek Unlimited” received much acclaim by those tuned into fresh underground flavours.

2000 saw Chris progressing his musical passion by continuing to develop innovative sounds and releases with Senses, Equinox and ASC. As well as linking up with the likes of Fracture & Neptune, Wilsh and Breakage.

Due to the conviction that while the DnB scene had some talented artists driving the sound, there were still elements that did not have an arena for free and innovative expression, Chris started the now legendary Technicality Nights in October 2001. These nights came to be known for definitively delivering some of the hottest, freshest sounds in the genre, adding new breaks and influences that had not been heard before.

The first Technicality All-Nighter in 2003 received tremendous critical acclaim and stood as testament to the fact of a growing fan base for percussive sounds that offering more than the same old tried and tested loops. He has continued to host the successful monthly Technicality nights, as well as tour throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, bringing the progressive Inperspective sound to a broad global audience, as well as periodically doing more Technicality all night events in different locations around London.

He is currently recognised as an innovative producer, respected DJ and host to some of the most cutting-edge dance nights on offer. In addition, Chris is a regular guest at the legendary Renegade Hardware nights and has played at Progression Sessions, Swerve, Noir and Traffic events, always delivering the innovative sounds that Inperspective fans have come to expect.
