After a bit of a hiatus, I am back and I bring to you some very solid tunes this week. Recently I was in Romania hanging with some dnb headz and quite a few people mentioned how much they were feeling Gold Rush so I had a listen once again and decided to start the set off with it. Actually, Danny Byrd should have come to the festival I was at (Summer Break in Deva, Romania in case you are interested. See a little film I made of it here) but for some reason he was unable to come. Bummer really. At any rate, this mix was inspired by the train ride home and the tunes reflect my mood on the way back (there was a small sense of fear that I would not be allowed to cross certain borders, but alas, I made it). Nevertheless, it’s got a few tunes besides the Byrd tune that are worthy of note: Mr. Straub’s Easy Does It, jazzy and nice, all the tunes from the Liquid Brilliants label and Calibre’s Lo Note are all worthy of a second or even third listen.
