“never left august…”
transmitting from mount vernon, new york, usa
getting back into the swing of things after an unintentional summer hiatus with some lighthearted head nodders. parts of the mix (from prefuse to jeff lorber and from cosby to the januaries) were recorded back in 2005 as part of my own podcast. i’ll admit that the audio quality isn’t the best, but there are songs within those segments that i thought some would enjoy hearing. at any rate, i hope you like this one.
1. flavor flav – git on down (feat. son of baserk)
2. james reese and the progressions – let’s go (it’s summertime)
3. dr. who dat? – on the doelow
4. prefuse 73 – perverted undertone
5. binary star – dat fast food joint
6. cheesy keys – love/hate
7. the jeff lorber fusion – rain dance
8. earl hooker – two bugs and a roach
9. bill cosby – ben
10. tomorrow’s promise – i’m gonna give it to you
11. plant life – when she smiles she lights the sky
12. the januaries – the girl’s insane (thievery corporation remix)
13. gap mangione – diana in the autumn wind
14. the pastels – windy hill (cornelius remix)
15. ultramarine – weird gear
16. cosmo vitelli – we don’t need no smurf here
17. papa’s culture – top 40
