awake from winter hibernation and ready to spring ahead with the rest of the universe.  no big concept or anything like that this time around…just playing some tunes and having some fun.  starting off with the unstoppable shawn lee (why do i see myself doing an entire show based solely on his work?), then diving into some beats and rhymes and other odds and ends.  note the pair of joints from brothers and systems circa 1992: the transcontinental weekend album is one of my desert island picks.  both happy mondays and pop will eat itself come straight off the cassette.  anybody remember when the term “mixtape” still meant cassettes?  anyone?

newness comes in the form of n.a.s.a., the nat king cole and femi kuti remixes, and a killer closer from somalia’s finest, k’naan (make one pirate joke and i may have to cyber-slap you…).  i’m making up for lost time and it starts with this episode.  hope you enjoy it…
