FAQ

Here is a short FAQ for using the PFRadio.com website…

Q. What exactly is a ‘Podcast’?
A. A Podcast is a feed of downloadable radio shows or mixes that you can subscribe to. Once subscribed, your favourite podcast compatible software (ie. iTunes) will automatically download new shows as soon as they come online.

Q. How do I subscribe to the Podcast?
A. Just head over to the ‘Subscribe’ page on this website and click on the link to subscribe with iTunes. If you do not use iTunes, but instead have an alternative podcast feed reader, then copy the link to the XML file which can be also found on the Subscribe page and enter it into your podcast software.

Q. How do I download just an individual show?
A. Under the track listing/description of each show will be a link saying ‘Download: click here’. Just click on the ‘Download’ link and click on ‘Save Target As’, then choose where you want to save the file to.

Q. Do you charge for the shows?
A. Nope! All our content is free of charge.

Q. How does the search work?
A. The search feature on the site searches the entire podcast archive for any keywords that you enter in. For example, if you wanted to find all the shows that had tunes by Paradox in them, just type ‘Paradox’ in search bar and hit the enter key. This also works with track titles, record labels, PFRadio DJ names and PFRadio show titles.

Q. Can I donate?
A. YES! We really need as many donations as we can get to keep the site running. We transfer hundreds of GB worth of data each month and as you can imagine, this amount of data transfer doesn’t come cheap. At the moment we have enough hosting resources to keep us going for the foreseeable future, so we don’t need web space or dedicated servers, but we do however need money to pay for our resources. So if you’re willing to donate, please donate money to our Paypal account. You can find out how to do this by going to the ‘Donate’ page. All donations are welcome, whether its £1 or £100!

Q. Can I DJ on Phuture Frequency?
A. Sure, just record us a one hour long demo mix, upload it and send us the link via the ‘Contact us’ page. If we like what we hear, you’ll hear back from us very soon! Bear in mind that we are only looking for people who can provide us either weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Of course we do occasionally allow one off shows, so don’t be put off applying.

Q. Can you put up a recording of my event on the PFRadio podcast?
A. Probably, although we can’t say yes straight away. Please contact us through the contact page.

Q. How can I book some of your DJs?
A. If you’re interested in booking any PFRadio DJs for events or anything similar, please send us your contact info, the name and location of the event you wish to book the dj for and the name of the DJ you’re interested in. We will pass on your contact info to the DJ asap.

Q. Do you run events?
A. Yes we do. Our last one was in July 2006, we plan to do another one soon so keep checking back for details!

Q. Who took the picture at the top of the site?
A. Steve Hogarty. To see more of his pictures, head over to his Flickr account.
