This is a mix from Beautiful Crissy, a Brooklyn, New York DJ named after a mildly creepy short-lived early 70’s doll whose notable attribute was variable hair length. Yeah, we said “wtf” after reading that too, but don’t get put off by weird the name – this mix is DOPE.
Visited genres include future bass, deep house, tech house, minimal, techno, breaks, electronica, and whatever else seems fitting.
Jubilee is the first Beautiful Crissy mix for Phuture Frequency… Enjoy!
Plenty of goodies this week with a guest mix from Reso who takes us in a deep and downbeat direction showcasing some of the bits he’s into but you wouldn’t usually hear in his club sets. Plus an airing of the Burial/Four Tet/Thom Yorke track ‘Mirror’. I also played the new Bullion album in whole so expect 20 minutes of odd beat, or whatever they call it, with plenty of humour.
Phuture Frequency owner and newbie bass music producer, Guy Andrews, takes us through 45minutes of house, dubstep, garage and techno influenced bass music. With tunes by Ill Blu, Blawan and Ben Westbeech (under the guise of Breech) thrown into the mix, Guy showcases a diverse selection to cater for heads who like there beats at around 130bpm.
Ed:Robot aka Olivier Blanchin is an active member of the Exploration Music crew as a dj and graphic designer. For the 17th episode of the podcast he delivers a uk funky, house and techno mix full of delightful tunes.
Broadcast from London’s East End: Feedreader by Jules Hallam samples the best music from across the web. Expect anything from dubstep and hip hop to soul, jazz, latin, dance, garage and electronica. SCB, Koreless and Jacques Greene head up this one, with a hip hop-laden guest mix from Milyoo.
East London’s DJ Dark-Heart is known for his ability to DJ any style, from Drum ‘n’ Bass to House. In this mix, which lasts a little over an hour, he showcases his current tastes in UK Funky. Expect some deep beats and flawless mixing. Apologies for the lack of track listing.
