2007 saw a change of style for the Liquid Funk genre. Beats got harder, bass got more booming and the energy levels were turned way up. Hospital obviously lead the charge, but right there with them were artists like Bungle, Donnie Dubson, Electrosoul System and a whole slew of new bread producers keeping it funky. 2007 also saw the release of LPs by two of Liquid’s biggest name in High Contrast and Commix – both amazing in production value and style, each brought a different approach Liquid’s funky sound. This mix tries to cover the best bits from 2007′s Liquid Funk, although to be honest there were so many great tracks released that I couldn’t fit in all the choons I wanted to.
